The company has an experienced, proficient and professional product design and development team engaged in crane design and development for a long time. Technology backbones of the company are technology experts enjoying a very high popularity in the industry, who stand on the technology forefront of the industry and dominate the direction of technology development in the fields of leading products. BHI has set up a municipal technology center engaged in design and R&D. The center is composed of over 30 R&D personnel, including four professor level senior engineers, six senior engineers and eight master scholars. In order to cultivate the reserve force, BHI also has established an effective personnel training mechanism and selected outstanding young R&D personnel to pursue advanced studies in China’s well-known institutions.
The design level of BHI leading products in no matter the mechanical part of the electrical control part is on a par with the contemporary international advanced level. This is mainly reflected in two aspects: one is to apply new theories, new methods and new technologies, such as modular design theories, optimized design methods, CAD, CAE and finite element analysis in design; and the other aspect is to apply new technologies in the product, such as high-strength material application technology, high-power power and electronic elements-based variable-frequency regulating speed technology, microelectronics and electronic information technology-based digital communication technology, PLC contactless control technology, condition monitoring, and fault diagnosis technology.
Technological innovation has improved the competitiveness of BHI hit products in the international market and also the location and role of BHI in the industry. BHI is a director unit of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society Logistics Branch and a standing director unit of the Crane Mechanical Technology Specialized Committee. BHI has participated in the development of the new version General-purpose Overhead Crane (GB/T14405 and Gantry Crane for General Purpose (GB/T14406), which are the most important two standards in the industry. BHI also attended the revision work of JB/T 7688.15-1999 Metallurgic Crane Technical Condition Casting Crane and JB/T 7688.14-1999 Metallurgic Crane Technical Condition Slab Carrying Crane. Moreover, BHI is also responsible for the drafting and experimental verification work of three standards – Crane Hoisting Mechanism Energy Consumption Measurement Method, Crane Running Gear Energy Consumption Measurement Method and Metallurgic Crane Energy Consumption Measurement Method.
